Elder Adegboyega Onasanya the President/Founder of Adegboyega Onasanya Foundation (AOF)
The ancient city of Ijebu-Igbo located at eastern party of Ogun State yesterday witness another tremendous support from one of her illustrious son who is based in Aberdeen Scotland, Elder Adegboyega Onasanya.
It is also worthy of mentioning that Ijebu-Igbo is the host town of Molusi College one of the best secondary schools in Ogun State founded in I949 which Adegboyega Onasanya finished his secondary school education from in late nineties.
On Tuesday January 21,2020 Senator Olamilekan Mustapha representing Ogun East Senatorial district at the Upper Chamber, Professor Onabamiro, Dr. Adeola Kiadese Provost Tai Solarin College of Education, Otunba Olayemi Emida CEO Breakthrough Global Brands Limited, Ayo-Mojoyin Chief Operating Officer at The City Pulse, Mr Abiola Akanbi among others stormed the town as Elder Onasanya official launched his foundation named : Adegboyega Onasanya Foundation (A.O.F).
The motive of the foundation is to bridge educational lapses in the society.
Elder Adegboyega began this in a colourful way as he gave out scholarships to best students of the School and also a cash gift to parent of the Best Overall Student to expand her pure water business.
The event which took place at the school main Hall saw Miss Oyenuga Kemisola Opemipo a Basic 2 Student, brilliant but indigent was awarded a full scholarship by the foundation which comprises of Boarding School Fees, Clothing, Books, Uniform, Houseware, Feeding etc from Basic 2 to S.S.S 3 with an assurance of been sponsored to her higher institution if she comes out excellently at her S.S.C.E Examinations and UTME.
Others who received certificate of excellence and cash prizes for coming out in flying colours include Moshood Titilayo Dikirat, Aregbesola Kafilat, Bisiriyu David, Kabiru Quadri and Ismail Kehinde.
Speaking at the event, the President of the foundation, Elder Adegboyega Onasanya appreciated his parents for putting him on the right track, he attributes all his achievement in life to their support.
Advising the students, he told them to work hard so they can come out in flying colours in their academic pursuit.
However, Sen Lekan Mustapha after eulogising the president of the foundation’s mother for the role she played in his wife’s life, he congratulates Elder Onasanya for the initiative, he also admonish the students to pursue their academics career wholeheartedly.
Promising the school, Sen. Lekan Mustapha said he will return to them very soon to attend to pressing issues they need, Molusi College is also the alma mata of the senator, he finished from the school in the 70’s.
Also at the event was the Chairman transition Committee of Ijebu North Local Government, Hon Jayeola, he assured the foundation of rendering every assistance to them anytime they need his support.
The Provost of Tai Solarin College of Education in his remark express joy, describing the philanthropy gesture of the founder in education, stating that it indicates that education cannot be the sole responsibility of the government hence private hands are also needed for educational advancement and development.
Kabiyesi, Oba Abayomi Banjo, the Olokine of Ojowo, who was also present at the event extend his appreciation to the mother of the Founder Mrs Opeoluwa Onasanya for training the founder in a Godly way he has lived to become today. He challenged the foundation to extend their gestures to other districts in the local government while assuring that like-minds will be contacted to join hands with the foundation.
Professor Gbenga Bamiro delivered the key lecture : Education as the right option; implications of it’s roles in societal advancement.

About the founder
President of the foundation, Adegboyega Onasanya was born by Late Venerable Victor Onasanya and Mrs Opemipo Onasanya nee Bamiro in Oke Agbo Ijebu Igbo. Attended St.Phillips Anglican Primary School, Oke Agbo, Ijebu Ode Grammar School, Molusi College, Ijebu Igbo and had his first degree at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye. He bagged his Masters degree in Corporate Communication and Public Affairs from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland and also recently completed a Degree in Bachelor of Nursing Mental Health from the same University. He worked extensively in the areas of political sensitization and public advocacy in the United Kingdom and Nigeria. He is a registered Nurse (Mental Health) and Staff Nurse in the United Kingdom. Married to Mrs Oladayo Onasanya nee Awoyomi and blessed with lovely Children.
