COVID-19: OYO TEACHERS OBSERVE PRAYER AND FASTING SESSION FOR GOV. SEYI MAKINDE

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic which the incumbent governor of Oyo State Engr Seyi Makinde has been tested positive to, a cream of workers in Oyo State under the forum named OYO STATE TEACHERS CONGRESS ably led by the State Coordinator Rev. Bunmi Thomas observed a one day prayer and fasting session for the quick recovery of the governor.

The prayer and fasting session was observed today April 1, 2020.

According to the State Coordinator of the Teachers Congress Rev Bunmi Thomas, ‘ Engr. Seyi Makinde is a leader who runs the state above partisan politics. His style of administration is worthy of emulation, and we cannot see him become a victim of this global health challenges and abandon him. We have directed all teachers both serving and retired in primary, secondary and tertiary schools across the state to join in the prayer and fasting session and we believe God will heal him and heal our land’.

The Prayer and fasting session kicked started at 12 midnight March 31st, and the hourly prayer time was observed as directed in christian pattern 6am, 9am, 12noon, 3pm and 6pm while the Muslim pattern was directed to be observed at the 5 times daily prayers of the Muslim faith.

The State Coordinator, Rev Bunmi Thomas said plans are under way to hold the first OYO STATE TEACHERS ANNUAL GET TOGETHER tagged OYSTCAGET 2020 later in the year in which the governor is detailed to be celebrated and conferred with a meritorious award for good governance.
