Fayose Condemns Electricity Company Over Ifaki-Ekiti 10 Months Power Outage
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele. Fayose has condemned the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) for throwing Ifaki-Ekiti community into darkness for 10 months, promising to intervene and restore light to the town.
The governor, who will be visiting Ifaki-Ekiti to address the people any moment from now, said it was unacceptable to him for a whole community to be without electricity for 10 months.
Youths in the town are presently protesting against the BEDC over power outage which has been on for 10 months.
He called on the protesting youths to remain calm, promising to do everything possible to resolve the power outage in particular and the State in general.
Governor Fayose, who expressed displeasure over the way the people of Ifaki-Ekiti was being treated by the BEDC, said the electricity company must buckle up to provide better services to Ekiti and its people.
“It is unacceptable for the BEDC to put an entire community in total darkness for 10 months.
“We will therefore swing into action and make sure that light is restored in Ifaki-Ekiti and other towns in the State very soon.” he said.
