Foluke Daramola Salako Honours Veterans In Nollywood Industry, Unveils PARA Initiative

Most popular event centre on Lateef Jakande road Alausa Ikeja, Lagos Anchor was filled to the brim as Nollywood stars gathered to celebrate their veterans and to also begin a pension/health insurance scheme for themselves to safeguard there old age and any unforseen health issues that may come up later in life.

One of the most distinguished female actress in Nigeria Foluke Daramola-Salako is the founder of this initiative.

On that day, the well behaved actress and wife of a very popular Comrade Mr Kayode Salako, the Chairman of Bosworth College officially unveiled her non-governmental organisation, Passion Against Rape and Abuse in Africa {PARA}.

Foluke Daramola, a product of grace, from good christian background, a very good example of a virtuous woman was very happy at the turnout of the event as Nollywood veterans like, Pa Peter Fatomilola, Kareem Adepoju a.k.a Baba Wande, Kayode Odumosu a.k.a Pa Kasumu, Samson Oluwole (Jinadu), Lanre Hassan (Iya Awero), Idowu Phillips (Iya Rainbow), Chief Lere Paimo a.k.a Eda Onile Ola, Yinka Quadri, Oga Bello, among others were all present.

The event was anchored by Grand Comedian of Federal Republic of Nigeria GCFR Gbenga Adeyinka and Wazobia FM famous Lolo1, young actors on roll call are : Yomi Fash Lanso, Ayo Adesanya, Arike-to-ta-lenu, Elewuola, Laide Bakare, Saidi Balogun, Bisola Badmus, Lola Margaret, Adeniyi Johnson and others.

One of the leading Fuji musician in Nigeria, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma was on the band stand to thrill the nollywood stars with his genres of music.

While speaking, Foluke gave kudos to TAMPAN for all the plans they are putting together not to make actors lack when they grow old and she declare her intention to join in any positive move they make.

Yomi Fabiyi who happened to be the speaker during the event urged anybody producing new film to always include the old one’s, so they will still have sense of belongings in the industry.

In reaction to the event, Chief Peter Fatomilola said, “I am happy to be honoured and given money. We have rich people in Nigeria, but even our leaders didn’t think of this kind of initiative.

The money meant to be used in taking care of pensioners and the aged is being embezzled. Foluke honoured us despite not having all the resources. She will grow old and make more impact.” baba said.

Ti Oluwa Nile crooner Baba Wande also expressed joy at the honour given to him and other aged veterans. “He said, “Foluke Daramola thought about this great initiative; may God continue to bless her. What she did today hasn’t been done before. It’s the first of its kind. We have wealthy people in Nigeria, we have a government in Nigeria, but none of them has thought about honouring aged Nollywood stars and even giving them money. I am happy being part of those that were honoured.” he said
