MY CONDOLENCE EPISTLE ON THE DEATH OF LAWYER MOHAMMED FAWEHINMI

Mohammed Fawehinmi

I am pained to receive the sad news of the sudden and untimely death of Mohammed Fawehinmi the son to my mentor, model and idol late Chief Ganiyu Oyesola Fawehinmi.

I first met Mohammed Fawehinmi in the early 2000s in company of Segun Sango and Femi Aborisade at Anthony Village Lagos.

Femi Aborisade was of the *National Conscience* a movement I joined far back in 2000.

I had a close contact with Femi Aborisade in 1997 before meeting Mohammed Fawehinmi in 2000.

Then in 1997 I was arrested by Abacha junta through the aid of the state security agents called *Operation Gbale* I was put inside the booth of the van and driven to Ibadan on Aug 27, 1997.
That was my journey to detention under tyrant Gen. Sani Abacha.

One of the notorious boys of Abacha Col. Ahmed Usman the then Military Administrator of Oyo State ordered my arrest.

I was in detention when the Chambers of Chief Gani Fawehinmi was investigating my case.

The aftermath of that history led me into contact with Mohammed Fawehinmi.

He was a wonderful fellow and the cream of other comrades i got to know through the dark days of Abacha remain a fire baptism to my quest for social justice and agitation for a better life for the masses.

He will live on in my heart and memory for he was a wonderful fellow despite the accident that limited his crusade for social justice.

He will be remembered always .

Adieu.

Good night brother.
