President, Muhammadu Buhari finally arrived Nigeria today after spending one hundred and three (103) days in London, United Kingdom on medical grounds.
The Presidential jet landed at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, the nations capital at exactly 4.36pm.
President Buhari departed Nigeria on May 7 for a follow up of his medicals in London, United Kingdom.
While in London, The President received a lot of visitors ranging from government officials to religious leaders.
On July 11, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo visited the President in London and reported that he was recuperating fast.
Twelve (12) days later, Sunday July 23rd to be precise, President Buhari received in audience, the All Progressives Congress, APC, delegation in the Abuja House in London.
The delegation was led by National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun. Governors Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna , Yahaya Bello of Kogi and Rochas Okorocha of Imo, were also in the delegation.
On July 26, seven (7) state governors visited President Buhari at the Abuja House in London, United Kingdom.
The state governors who met with Buhari in London include Abdulaziz Yari, governor of Zamfara state, who led the delegation, other members of the delegation were Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Kashim Shettima (Borno), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Umar Ganduje (Kano) and Samuel Ortom (Benue).
August 4, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, paid a courtesy visit to President Buhari in London.
Displeased with the constant visits, protesters under the auspices of Our-Mumu-Don-do Movement and Concerned Nigerians commenced #ResumeOrResign protest last week Monday, demanding that President Muhammadu Buhari – who was on a medical vacation in the UK to either resume or resign, but called the protest off on August 16.
A day after the protest was called off by the group, the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representative, Hon. Yabubu Dogara visited President Buhari in London.
Twenty four (24) hours later, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye also visited President Buhari in London.
On Saturday morning, August 19, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Mr. Femi Adesina, revealed in a statement that the President will return today.
At exactly 4:36pm today President Buhari was received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, members of the Executive Council, the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno; the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari; Presidential aides; governors of Bauchi, Imo And Bauchi State, National president of Team Nigeria Chief Bestman J. Nze among others.
