The dignitaries include Hon. Commissioner for information who was represented by the Perm.Sec Mr Olusina Thorpe, Dr. Oke Osayintolu DG LASEMA, Engr. Dr. A. Oyelade a civil Engr. from University of Lagos who also happened to be the guest speaker of the event among others.
The Royal father of the day was Oba Muyideen Adebowale Balogun , Onisolu of Isolu Alade Kingdom, Ibeju Lekki , Ajumoshe 1.
Research revealed that the Building Expo been put together by the Lagos State foremost and official Radio Stations, Radio Lagos/EkoFM is first of its kind in Nigeria.
Speaking with the chairman of the committee Alhaji Kayode Adumadeyin , he said the major reason behind the exhibition is to key into Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda which the “H” is standing for Housing – Affordable House for All .
Speaking further, he said due to the above there is need to create a veritable base for robust relationship between stakeholders.
The event which started on Monday, 29 March will run through 11 April, 2021 at the station Arena on Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja.
Adumadeyin said the situation in the building industry in Nigeria has called for a platform like the Building Expo because it will create a level playing ground for stakeholders to have an opportunity to come together under one roof and look at the challenges the sector is facing in terms of technology advancement in the industry worldwide, exchange of ideas during the period, exhibition of latest trends in building materials technology, interior decor, documentations in terms of getting genuine land acquisition and others.
More importantly, according to Adumadeyin, he said that companies within the industry will be on ground to exhibit their products, while others will come to provide their services. He disclosed that because of the need to adhere to COVID-19 protocols, 10 exhibitors will be allowed during this first edition, while there is plan to enlarge the scope and organisation of the expo in the future.
To make the Building Expo 2021 more inclusive in order for all participants to get the best out of the event, the organisers partnered with a good number of Lagos state parastatals as regards to building and housing in the state, they include include:
