Information reaching us is that tension rises as armed, operatives of the Department of State Services take over the gates of the National Assembly.
No journalist is allowed to enter. Some lawmakers including Senator Rafiu Ibrahim (PDP, Kwara South) and others are stranded at the main gate.
This indicates that DSS has taking over the National Assembly ahead the leaders meeting today (Tuesday) to deliberate on some national issues that will move the country forward
The details of the meeting was contained in a statement issued via twitter on Monday night by Special Assistant to Senate President on Foreign Affairs, Bamikole Omishore and made available to newsmen in Abuja.
The tweet reads: “NASS leadership will tomorrow meet at noon to consider some national issues. The National Assembly leadership comprises both @NGRSenate and HouseNGR.
“It will be followed by another meeting with the leadership meeting with the leadership @inecnigeria led by its chairman Prof Mahmud Yakubu”.
