Thecitypulsenews exclusively gathered that the Speaker of house of representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila is the one sponsoring Sulaimon Bamidele Yussuf the current vice chairman in Surulere while Tajudeen Ajide, the chairman and his brother Moshood are the brain behind Idris Aregbe’s chairmanship ambition.
Our correspondent in Surelere during the primaries on Saturday revealed that the environment was tensed and there was pandemonium all over Surulere.
Gbajabiamila and Ajide reportedly alleged to have shared the Area boys and different cult groups. They have both bought other aspirants to their sides remaining just 4 aspirants out of 9, Thecitypulsenews gathered.
Moshood Ajide boasted to end the superior political grandstanding of Mr speaker by spending N500m for the primary and we gathered he has been throwing cash all around.
Party members, area boys and CDC have all enjoyed these largesse while Mr Speaker on his own part we gathered boasted to double the amount the other group planned to spend and same thing he has been doing too by giving out millions of naira.
The election day on Saturday was tensed that thugs and cult boys from both sides used different weapons on each other, which led loss of two lives.
Source revealed that the thugs from Aregbe side was headed by Bukata and Igimu, while Baresi and Faida, championed that of Sulaimon.
Feelers on ground made us understand (stakeholders/party leaders) who doesn’t want there names to be mentioned suggested that both candidates should be disqualified to pave way for a neutral candidate to emerge because if eventually one of the group emerge the tension and the aftermath will not be palatable and its the people of Surulere that will suffer it.
The supremacy fight, we gathered has been on since 2011 and it has degenerated to the extent that life has been threatened.
The party leaders in Surulere are calling on the stakeholders in Lagos and the national leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to please disqualify two of them and choose a neutral or fresh candidate for them in Surulere so that peace can reign.
Meanwhile, there are indications that the State chapter of the party may cancel the results of the primary election, over reports of violence in the area.
Surulere is known to be the base of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Recall that two persons were said to have died in the violence.
Sources told our correspondent that apart from the violence, the party received complaints of doctoring of results, among others.
Sources said Surulere is the worst as the politician brought in hoodlums from neighbouring communities.
We gathered that the state executive members are looking at the complaints their results and is likely it may be cancelled.”
