Members of IPOB have given residents of the southeast a new order which is expected to be obeyed by residents of the region. On Monday evening, the IPOB leader released a report stating why residents of Imo state must remain in their homes on Thursday. The IPOB statement was made a few hours after Governor Uzodimma addressed the press, Thecitypulsenews reports.
On Monday evening, members of IPOB gave a fresh order to residents of Imo state ahead of President Buhari’ s visit. While many traditional rulers in the region may have started preparing for the great occasions scheduled to take place on Thursday, IPOB has ordered residents of Imo state to shun any socio- political activities. On September 9, IPOB urges leaders and residents to stay in their respective homes irrespective of what President Buhari is planning to do in Imo on Thursday.
In a recent report, Governor Hope Uzodimma had stated that President Buhari would be in Imo state on Thursday to celebrate with him the economic achievements as well as the completion of some projects. Hope Uzodimma made this statement while speaking with newsmen on Saturday but reacting to his statement, IPOB member, Mazi Chika Edoziem. urged residents to maintain sit- at- home orders.
Mazi Chika Edoziem said ” President Buhari is not welcome to our region. We do not want him in Imo state for whatever reason. We are not in support of whatever he wants to do in the state and we urge the leaders and traditional leaders in the community to avoid any dealing with Governor Hope Uzodimma on the said date. The traditional chiefs must ignore the event and they must remain in their homes. “
