Onnoghen Resigned In Interest Of Judiciary, Says Lawyer

Adegboyega Awomolo, the lawyer to the embattled Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen, (SAN) has confirmed that his client resigned in the interest of the Judiciary.

Recall that Onnoghen on Thursday evening tendered his resignation letter to President Muhammadu Buhari after the Nigeria Judiciary Council (NJC) recommended his compulsory retirement .

The lawyer said: “I have just spoken with him. He confirmed to me that he resigned yesterday.

“He said he resigned in the interest of the Judiciary.”
